Guideline Steps For Each Piece of FenderFix
**Note: It is highly recommended to remove the front fender during the installation to ensure proper alignment.**
1. Gently use a heat gut to heat the old plastic trim from the fenders doing one section at a time.
2. As the old trim adhesive becomes soft, slide a piece of monofilament fishing string behind the old trim between the trim and the fender to cut the adhesive.
3. Once the old trim is peeled off, use an adhesive remover like Goo Gone to remove any remaining adhesive.
4. Before installing the appropriate FenderFix replacement trim in place on the fender, be sure to prepare the surface by using some rubbing alcohol and a shop/microfiber towel to clean the surface really well so the FenderFix adhesive adheres really well to the surface of the fender.
5. Once the motorcycle fender surface is prepped, find the FenderFix piece that matches the shape of the old trim piece that was removed and on the 3M tape, peel off the thin red film to expose the sticky tape surface.
6. Next apply the FenderFix piece to the contour of the fender as desired to match the old trim location. (Important: be sure to position the bottom tips of FenderFix first so they are not sticking below the bottom edges of the fender so that there is no overhang...this helps to ensure correct placement.)
7. Once the FenderFix piece is adhered to the fender, it is recommended to press the piece firmly to the surface of the fender to ensure proper adhesion.
8. With the FenderFix piece in place, now the gray film on top of the mirror stainless steel finish can be carefully peeled of the metal surface to expose the polished stainless steel finish.
9. Cleanup/polish as desired and you are done!
